Platform version 2.1.0

Change log

v2.1.0

31 July 2026
  • The free trial form on the website is now live — farmers sign up with their name, email, phone and password and get an account instantly.
  • Every new account starts a 14-day free trial with the full platform unlocked and no credit card required.
  • New signups receive a confirmation email with the link to activate their account and sign in.
  • Phone number and farm name captured at signup are saved to the farmer's profile automatically.
  • A trial status bar in the app shows how many days are left on the free trial.
  • Duplicate signups are handled gracefully with a prompt to sign in instead.

v2.0.2

31 July 2026
  • New Zealand scoring is now scored in 0.1 increments (previously 0.5), matching DairyNZ practice.
  • The AI now follows the full DairyNZ / Beef + Lamb NZ body condition criteria — backbone, long ribs, short ribs, hips, rump, pins, tailhead and thigh — with a written descriptor for each score step.
  • Calibration correction added for photo-based scoring, which typically reads 0.2–0.4 BCS lower than a hands-on assessor.
  • Late-pregnancy dry cows and angular crossbred / Jersey cows are no longer under-scored for frame, gut fill or pregnancy.

v2.0.1

31 July 2026
  • Completed assessments now save to your herd history automatically — no need to press Save.
  • Saved scans appear immediately in History, the dashboard and the admin scan monitor.
  • History no longer hides scans that were saved before a farm was selected.

v2.0.0

31 July 2026
  • Admin panel at /admin with its own branded administrator login screen and administrator-only access.
  • Admin dashboard — platform users, paid vs trial accounts, farms, scans, animals scanned, average herd BCS, 30-day scan chart and most active users.
  • User management — search accounts, edit profile and farm details, change plan and status, set trial end dates, keep private admin notes, grant or revoke admin access, and delete accounts.
  • Subscription management — plan, billing interval, renewal and trial dates editable inline with paid/trial/cancelled/annual summary cards.
  • Farms overview — every registered property with owner, team size and scan volume.
  • Scan monitoring — the latest 500 scans across all accounts with search and delete for quality control.
  • Promo codes — discounts, free trial days, usage caps, expiry dates and active toggles.
  • Announcements — publish info, warning or critical messages to every signed-in farmer.
  • Info pages — editable help, guidance and legal content with published/draft states.
  • Platform settings — app name, support email, maintenance mode, max photos per scan and default scoring scale/region.
  • Secure role system — roles are stored separately from profiles and every admin action is verified server-side.

v1.9.0

31 July 2026
  • Farm team access — create multiple properties, invite staff and consultants, and set Admin, Member or Viewer roles per farm.
  • Farm switcher in the app header so scans, history, trends and the dashboard all follow the property you're working on.
  • Farm-specific BCS targets by production stage, saved per property.
  • Paddock mode — take photos with no signal and Herd Scan stores them on your device, then scores them the moment you're back in range.
  • Benchmarking — compare your herd's average condition against regional and national averages, with season context (calving, mating, lactation, dry-off, winter).
  • Trends and season reporting — line charts of mob averages across every scan, plus seasonal summaries.
  • CSV and Excel export — animal-level downloads and scan summaries for your farm software.
  • Integrations page — import EID reads and weigh-scale sessions from Gallagher, Tru-Test or Datamars CSV files and match them to a saved scan, with a downloadable template.
  • Weather and feed outlook — 7-day local forecast linked to an indicative maintenance energy uplift and extra kg DM per head.
  • Condition alerts — set BCS floors, below-target percentage triggers and low-confidence warnings, with a log of what's been triggered.
  • Offline banner across the app showing connectivity and any scans waiting to sync.

v1.8.0

31 July 2026
  • Herd Scan is now an installable app — add it to your phone's home screen from Safari or Chrome and it opens full screen with its own icon, no browser bars.
  • New mobile app experience: bottom tab bar for Scan, Dashboard, History, Profile and the main site.
  • 'Take a photo' button on mobile opens the camera directly for a scan.
  • Mobile layouts tightened across the web app, dashboard, history and profile — full-width buttons, safe-area padding for notch and home-bar, and readable type on small screens.
  • Install prompt banner on phones, which hides automatically once the app is installed.

v1.7.0

31 July 2026
  • Multi-market scoring: choose the New Zealand 1–10, US dairy 1–5, US beef 1–9, UK/EU 1–5 or Australian 1–8 body condition scale — every score, target and category converts automatically.
  • Region selector (NZ, Australia, US, Canada, UK, Ireland) that sets the right scale, units and local feeding advice.
  • Breed-specific scoring for dairy (Friesian, Jersey, Kiwi-cross, Ayrshire and more) and beef (Angus, Hereford, Charolais, Brahman, dairy-beef and more), or auto-detect from the photo.
  • Production class targets: calving, mating, early/mid/late lactation, dry-off, heifers, weaning, winter, finishing and bulls — each with its own target score.
  • Photo angle selection (side-on, rear, three-quarter, mixed) so the model weights the landmarks it can actually see.
  • Weights in kilograms or pounds throughout the app.
  • Per-animal landmark scores for ribs, loin, hooks, pins, tailhead and brisket, plus muscling, gut fill and coat condition.
  • Confidence scoring with reasons, a low-confidence recheck flag and a filter to exclude uncertain animals from mob statistics.
  • Re-scan coaching: tells you how to photograph a difficult animal better next time.
  • Richer mob analytics: median, standard deviation, score distribution chart, risk flags and an indicative feed budget to lift below-target animals.
  • Up to 20 photos per scan (was 12), and a printable / PDF report export.
  • Farm-wide scoring defaults saved on your profile page.
  • AI consultant is now region-aware, unit-aware and can convert scores between international scales.

  • Added free farm accounts — sign up and sign in with email at /auth.
  • New farm dashboard with average BCS, animals scanned, average liveweight, BCS trend chart and recent scans.
  • Scans can now be saved to your account, including the photos, with a searchable scan history and full detail view for every assessment.
