The app

A herd management app that fits in your pocket

Scan the mob, save the results, watch the trend. Herd Scan turns a phone camera into a livestock assessment tool for New Zealand and Australian dairy and beef farms.

Everything in one place

Most farms run condition scoring on paper, weights in a spreadsheet and photos in a camera roll. Herd Scan keeps the assessment, the animal and the history together, so the next decision starts from the last one instead of from memory.

Common questions

What does the Herd Scan app do?
Herd Scan is a cattle assessment and herd management app. You photograph animals with your phone and it returns estimated liveweight, body condition score for dairy and growth weight for beef, then saves every assessment against the herd so you can track trends, tag individual animals and export PDF reports.
What hardware do I need?
A smartphone. There are no tags, scales, readers or other devices required. Herd Scan also supports reading EID tags via a compatible Bluetooth reader if you already use one.
Does it work offline in the paddock?
The app is built to keep working with patchy coverage — scans queue and sync when you get signal again.
Is Herd Scan available on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Herd Scan is on the App Store and Google Play, and there is a browser version that works on any device.
Can I share results with my vet or consultant?
Yes — every assessment can be exported as a PDF report.
